Returns

Within 30 days of delivery, you may return any defective item you purchase in new condition with original packaging.  We'll also pay the return shipping cost if the return is a result of our error.  We'll notify you via e-mail of your refund once we've received and processed the returned item.  You can expect a refund in the same form of payment originally used for purchase within 7 business days of our receiving your return.

Privacy

Your privacy is very important to Number 1 Shoes.  With that in mind, we have established and implemented information handling practices that we believe are consistent with the highest standards and best practices of similar organizations.  This privacy policy describes our practices including, specifically, the information we collect about you, when and how we collect that information and what may happen to that information.  We will not collect personally identifiable information like your name, email and mailing address and telephone number without your knowledge and permission, we will not disclose your personal information to third parties except as set out below or unless you have authorized us to do so, and we will take reasonable steps to protect the security of the personal information we collect from you.

Your personal information

Number 1 Shoes does not collect personally identifiable information, such as your name, address, e-mail or telephone number, without your knowledge.  Such information is collected only when you knowingly and voluntarily submit it to us (such as, for example, when you contact us via email, order goods from us or join our VIP Club).  Number 1 Shoes uses such voluntarily submitted information only for the purposes for which it was submitted, our own internal purposes (such as staff training) and any other purpose which you may authorise.

When you place an order online, Number 1 Shoes will contact you by telephone to confirm the order and to process payment for it.  The personal information you submit when placing your order is treated as confidential. 

We do need to share your personal information with third parties who perform services on our behalf, such as delivering packages and sending emails and with Visa or Mastercard in order to process payments.  However, we will not authorise those parties to use your information for other purposes.

We use cookies

Our website uses cookies.  They allow Number 1 Shoes to remember you.  If we didn't use cookies you would have to enter your details each time you visited.  If you really prefer not to use cookies you can set your browser preferences to not accept cookies.  Most websites however, including Number 1 Shoes, require cookies to process your orders.

Trends and tracking

Number 1 Shoes uses standard software for monitoring statistical information such as how many visitors we have to our websites and what countries they are coming from.   These statistics are viewed on an aggregate basis and help us get general overviews of customer trends.  We do not look at individual customer data.  We may also provide these statistics to reputable third parties.

Security

Customer information is not kept on the website, but is sent directly to our database.  In addition, when we receive your information, it is stored on a secure location in our office so that it can only be accessed by us.

Links

Our site may provide links to other sites.  When you click on one of these links, you are leaving our site and entering another site that we do not control and for which we cannot be responsible.  You should carefully review the privacy statements or policies on any other site that you visit because those privacy statements or policies will apply to your visit to that site and may be very different from our policy. 

Updating your personal information

We may change this policy from time to time and will notify you by posting an updated version on our website.  This document represents our privacy policy as at 4 June 2010.
